Elena Solomon is an art historian of textile craftwork within the contexts of migration and diaspora, specializing in Jewish textile craftwork from historic Poland. She is a doctoral student in the Jewish Art Department of Bar Ilan University. Her research focuses on identifying the Jewish textile handcraft environment in eastern Europe from the early modern era on and how it changed after the Great Migration at the turn of the 20th century. She has an MA in Art History and Curatorial Studies from the University of Western Ontario and a BA in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Elena is currently a Visiting PhD Scholar at the University of Manchester's Social Anthropology department and a research assistant for a fashion and migration project with the University of Leicester, titled "Between Diaspora and the 'Land of Israel': Jewish Dress, Migration and Belonging, 1880s-1948."
