Portraiture
These paintings are a collection of portraits from the 18th - early 20th centuries of Jewish women primarily from eastern Europe, which I've compiled as part of my research. There are many interesting elements in these images, from headgear and dress to the biographies of the individuals and artists. For more information on dress elements, see my articles and upcoming dissertation. All images are in the public domain.
